The Gamma Gamma Chapter lived the past fall semester in high spirits as we cheered on the eventual football 2006 National Championship Florida Gators on to victory. The new tailgate location on University Ave. across the Swamp Restaurant provided the makings of great tailgate season. A special thanks is given to Psi Omega and UFCD alum Dr. Larry Cook (President, ’80) for providing the new tailgate location.

The best tailgate of the season was the UF-LSU game which saw 200+ students, faculty, alumni, family and friends come together enjoying Cajun cuisine and Gator atmosphere before kickoff. That great Gator spirit sent our Deputy Councilor James Haddix and a small group of Gamma Gamma members out to Glendale for the big game and what an experience those few brought back to the chapter.

October '06 - Halloween Party

The chapter will be hosting lunch and learn speakers throughout the spring semester. A key speaker April 5th is Rick Willeford from Willeford & Associates in Atlanta, GA. His message is focused toward dental students and new practicing dentists that is called “Getting out of Dentistry Alive!” UFCD alumni are invited to come enjoy this vital message as much anticipation is growing. The chapter revived a relationship with the ACORN clinic in the rural area of Brooker, FL. Members went out to the clinic to provided dental treatment to those in the community in dire need. Those served gained a greater knowledge of dental hygiene and appreciation of dentistry as teams went out 1-2 times a month.

August '06 - Rush at the Swamp Restaurant

Social Happy Hours spent at Calico Jack’s, Gators Dockside, and Swamp Restaurant for St. Patrick’s Day was held in endeavoring to boost membership and kicking off the spring semester. The annual Cinco de Mayo Happy Hour and Senior Banquet are right around the corner to celebrate the end of another school year and commencement of another great senior dental class out into the world of dentistry.
