Epsilon - Case Western Reserve

2004 was an excellent year for the Epsilon chapter, located in beautiful, sunny, Cleveland, Ohio. In January we helped send five of our illustrious group to the Dominican Republic to do some service work. They were limited to extractions and some operative due to the conditions, but many smiles were observed through the gauze-filled mouths. Four more of our Epsilon brothers made the same trip in July and had the same amazing experiences helping those in serious need of some dental work. In April, we held the first "Chips & Salsa Challenge", which as the name implies was a salsa (no dancing involved) competition. Many bowls of salsa were entered, a winner was selected, and ice-water distributed.

During the last week of classes we held our "Senior Send-off BBQ". New York Steak and marinated chicken for everyone as well as a baked potato bar, Caesar salad, mozzarella sticks, taquitos, cake, and more!! This was made possible due to a generous donation from our local alumni; we couldn't do it without them.

This new school year has been more of the same, mud volley ball, welcome back BBQ for the whole school, lunch and learn, rafting on the Upper Gauley, initiation dinner (sponsored by alumni once again) and a clothing drive to take clothes to the people in the Dominican Republic. Epsilon is well fed and having fun!

Delta Upsilon - University of Texas

Fall 2004 was a busy semester and one full of new faces and officers. Rush was conducted in September. This year's Pledge Class of nine students is enthusiastic and eager to be involved in Chapter activities. Happy hours and a house party at Derk Reznik's ('05) house helped introduce the new members to the current ones and the faculty Psi Omega alumni.

In House, October is the month when the heat begins to diminish, providing for some wonderful weather. Mother Nature came through with a great day for the Chapter's Barbeque, hosted by Psi 0 alum, Dr. Karen Walters and her husband, Randy. Randy whipped up some mouth-watering beef brisket along with all the "fixins" for more than forty attendees. Along with the great food and fellowship, we watched the Houston Astros win a playoff game. This was the second year that Dr. Walters and her husband have sponsored the event.

Holland Morrison ('05) hosted the annual Halloween party. Some very creative and unique costumes arrived, including a caveman and The Incredible Hulk. As the Fall Semester ended in December, the Chapter held a reception at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, prior to the school's annual Holiday Party. We had drinks, snacks and a chance to unwind from the stress of the semester. The semi-formal party was a great chance to set aside the scrubs and dance the night away. A great time was had by everyone.

Delta Upsilon is looking forward to the Spring social activities, the election of next year's officers and the graduation of our 4th year members. We are also celebrating the Centennial Anniversary of The University of Texas Dental Branch-Houston - Cheers to 100 years! Y'all have a fantastic 2005!
