Dr.
John W.M. Carter
'78 Phi Rho
Dr. John W. M. Carter (Phi Rho '78) has been elected President of the
College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontists. The college
represents over 3,000 orthodontists that have been certified by the
American Board of Orthodontists. Dr. Carter was Psi Omega's National
President in 1993 and Alumnus of the year in 2002. He served on the
National Council from 1987 to 1993. He served as the Chapter Advisor
for his own dental school chapter (Phi Rho) at the University of Missouri,
Kansas City School of Dentistry from 1982 to 2002.
Dr. Carter maintains a private dual dental specialty practice in orthodontics,
dentofacial orthopedics and pediatric dentistry in Overland Park, Kansas.
He also has an appointment as an. Associate Clinical Professor in the
Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Kansas School of
Medicine where he is the orthodontic consultant for the Cleft Palate
and Cranofacial Anomoly Team.

...has retired after 50 years of practice. After a period of retirement,
he has decided to take a part-time job delivering the local newspaper.
He is known as the 84 year-old paperboy. He wishes all Psi O's the very
best!

1934 Eta...
...is a recipient of the American College of Dentists Foundation Lifetime
Achievement Award for 2004. This award was initiated by Dr. Samuel D.
Harris to recognize dentists who have been Fellows of the American College
of Dentists for fifty years. Congratulations!

Govoni
1971 Xi...
...has been in dental practice for 30 years. He has been married for
32 years and has four children - Becca, 22; Maria, 27; Amanda, 25; Gina,
22. Has two grandchildren. Favorite hobbies are hunting, fishing, carpentry
and wood carving.

Dale Kiser, Jr.
1997 Delta Omega...
...achieved diplomate status in the Federal Services Board of Dentistry;
in May he was awarded diplomate status in the American Board of General
Dentistry; in June he was promoted to the rank of Major in the USAF
dental corps; in August, his daughter, Payton, was born. He has two
other children, Cole and Reagan. In October, he was selected to enter
training in July 2005 in the USAF Hospital Dentistry Fellowship.
