A Memorial to Ken Creamer
Delta Upsilon, 1985

Dr. Creamer was born February 18, 1952 in Houston, Texas. He graduated from St. John's High School in Houston and The University of Texas in Austin, Texas. Ken worked in the Physiology Department at The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston before becoming a dental student. During his years at the Dental Branch, he became actively involved with the Delta Upsilon Chapter of Psi Omega. Ken obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1985 and joined his dad, Dr. Frank Creamer, in the practice of General Dentistry on Houston's northwest side. He was an active member of the Greater Houston Dental Society, Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association for the 19 years he practiced. Ken enjoyed being an active Psi Omega alumnus, having served as President of the local alumni group and Deputy Councilor of the active chapter. He especially enjoyed cooking at Dr. Dan Kamas' annual Psi Omega barbeques. Ken was always willing to do whatever was needed to help Psi Omega.

Ken was an avid fisherman and loved fishing on the Gulf Coast. He was passionate in the conservation of the coastal waters he So enjoyed. He was an active member of the local Coastal Conservation Association and served on its state and executive boards. Ken was fishing the Poco Bueno fishing tournament with a lifelong friend in mid-July when he contracted a bacterial infection from the saltwater. He was hospitalized in Victoria, Texas where he later died on August 12, 2004.

Dr. Creamer is survived by his wife of nine years, Jane; sons Andrew and wife Amanda, and Daniel; grandson, Caleb Dean Creamer; brother Kris; other relatives and numerous friends. His oldest son, Andrew, said it best: "we couldn't go anywhere with dad, that he didn't run into someone he knew".
