Gamma Omicron
Medical College of Virginia

The members of Gamma Omicron have enjoyed the fall semester. We kicked things off by introducing the freshman to school with the annual Post Gross party. All in attendance let their hair down and forgot about the rigors of dental school for awhile. Later on we initiated the freshman class and welcomed them to our fraternity. Our faculty advisor, Dr. Barnes, was in attendance to bestow some words of wisdom to the new members. For our fall philanthropy project, we rallied the troops and held a mustache drive from November 6th to December 6th with the proceeds going to the Salvation Army of Richmond. A tremendous number of students volunteered to grow mustaches, and both faculty and students alike donated money for the drive. Afterwards, Gamma Omicron was able to donate 600 dollars to the Salvation Army for Christmas gifts for underprivileged children. To celebrate the conclusion of the semester, we held a tacky sweater Christmas party. The weather was cold, but the party was filled with the warmth of good friends and libations.

Next semester Gamma Omicron will be off and running. We are hosting a happy hour, sending a delegate to the national conclave, and attending the annual Strawberry Hill horse race. Happy New Year to all.
