Chapter Check-In

The Psi Omega, Nu Sigma Chapter (Nova Southeastern University) is doing great this year! Our theme for the year is “Doing BIG things in little spaces”. Our slogan was printed on T-shirts and Koozies for our members. We recently welcomed new members into our fraternity by having a Cowboy/Cowgirls themed initiation party. Our new and returning members had a great time riding the mechanical bull! Another recent event we had was a fundraiser for the Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s hospital. The event was held at My Big Fat Greek Restaurant in Hollywood, Florida. We had lots of Greek Food and belly dancing and raised $2,700 for the hospital!

On an academic note, we continued our tradition of having a tooth identification “practice practical” for the D1 Psi Omega members. We also provided extracted teeth from our tooth bank for the Psi Omega members currently in the endodontics course. Our Big Brother/Big Sister program is also continuing. We matched up our new members with upperclassmen so they could get advice on anything they needed, dental related or not.

We have many happy hours, a trip to the rodeo, and hopefully a road trip to visit another Psi Omega chapter planned for next semester. Overall, our chapter is off to a great year here in sunny Florida!
