From the Central Office

We are happy to introduce Ms. Emily Lemacks to you as our newest member of the Psi Omega Central Office. We are delighted to have her and she has already proven to be an excellent addition to our staff. She will be handling all of the Psi Omega business, and if you have not already spoken with her, she will be happy to assist you in any way.

We continue to thank Claudia for stepping in and keeping the office running when we really needed her. She has done a great job and we couldn’t have done it without her. She continues to help Emily learn the ropes, so she will be around for a little while longer. Thanks to Pattie for stepping in and assisting Claudia--and with the Frater. We now have a trained back-up staff, and they assure us that they will be happy to assist if and when the need arises but look forward to having some free time as the summer approaches!

Since our last report, we have welcomed a new Chapter to the fraternity--Upsilon Nu of the University of Las Vegas Nevada. On October 12, 2006, Dr. Kays authorized and inducted 31 new students and we were delighted to have them as guests at the Psi O Suite at our ADA reception. The National Council

We just had a successful National Conclave in St. Louis on April 14. There were many great ideas shared among the students and advisors during this Conclave meeting and the general consensus was that it could only be better if it were held yearly! And a special “Thank You” goes to Dr. John Hatton who made all of the arrangements for the meetings. He did an excellent job with the planning and food for everyone!!! It was unfortunate that the weather did not cooperate for the Cardinals game, and we hope everyone was able to get home without major delays due to all the airline cancellations. We will have more to report about the Conclave in our next issue.

Here’s one date to put on your calendar--we invite you to join us at our annual Psi Omega reception held annually during the ADA meeting in San Francisco--our hotel is the Grand Hyatt and the date is Sunday, September 30, 2007. More to come in the next issue, but we’d love to see you there!!
