Upsilon
Nu The Psi Omega, Upsilon Nu Chapter atUNLV has grown tremendously over the past year. We started with 33 inaugural members and now we have 74 members. We have more than doubled our membership in on year. This is a great achievement for such a new chapter. This year we had our first initiation dinner which all members enjoyed and the inaugural members provided a potluck dinner for the new members. Six of our members graduated this spring including our first president Paul Bitar and editor Shokofeh Motlagh. Psi Omega held several tailgate parties supporting our UNLV Football and Basketball teams. We are continually raising funds by selling candles and our annual Bowling Tournament fund-raisers. Our Annual Bowling Tournament consisted of 20 teams of 5 people. We handed out prizes for Male/Female Highest Score, Most Strikes and Lowest Score. The team with the highest score also received an award. Next year we hope to make this event Semi-Annual since we received such a great response and had much success with it. Community service has been a priority with our 1st Annual Thanksgiving food drive which A blood drive was held in March. United Blood service brought their bus to our campus on a Friday afternoon and collected 13 pints of blood. One of our most popular social events is Bingo night and $1 Beer night at our Triple-A Baseball team, the 51’s. This year we hope to increase our presence on campus, with increased social events and community service events, and increase our membership with new DS1s starting in August.
