As
my term of office as National President of Psi Omega Fraternity ends,
I want to reflect on our accomplishments and successes of the past year.
Professional fraternal organizations are still alive and well, despite
the rising cost of dental schools. Psi Omega Fraternity still ranks among
the best of them. Most of our chapters are active and growing. At our
last national conclave, I was very impressed by the large number of activities
for community service performed by our members. Chapters around the country
are volunteering to provide dental care to the under-served, raising money
for charitable causes, such as the tsunami victims, and working to help
Of course, a major function of dental fraternities is social. Busy dental students need a time away from studies and the fraternity provides just the right atmosphere to enjoy each other and party. These functions are ongoing, and, in most cases, extremely successful I
am proud to be associated with Psi Omega Dental Fraternity for the past
thirty-seven years, as dental student, faculty member, deputy councilor,
